Esta vez nos fuimos al restaurante japonés Yokohama, con más de 15 años en el mercado y una oferta de 156 platos tradicionales japoneses, incluido sushi fresco y otros platillos como el Sushi Dog, Chicau y Yakimeshi seco.
En nuestro caso, la idea era comer sushi. Hicimos una reserva, aunque no fue necesaria, ya que había bastante espacio cuando llegamos. Al principio, la atención nos pareció un poco lenta: pedimos nuestras bebidas y esperamos el sushi mientras disfrutábamos del tradicional edamame.
El sushi no tardó en llegar. Lo disfrutamos; nos pareció bueno, aunque nada fuera de lo normal. Aun así, la calidad fue bastante aceptable y terminamos pasando una buena y agradable noche.

no llevar objetos contundentes como monedas , paraguas ,ni astas de banderas y ropa cómoda .en el caso de los objetos no los permiten deben dejarlos afuera por eso es importante no llevarlos porque van a perderlos
en las zonas llamadas sol, solo la parte sur no está numerada y te puedes sentar donde quieras las demás zonas en tu boleto viene el número de asiento
si quieres en las afueras del estadio puedes adquirir alguna prenda de souvenir o bien comerte algo de comida callejera local

tener presente que en Costa Rica está prohibida la venta de licor dentro de los estadios
en general eso es lo que tienes que saber a la hora de asistir a un partido de futbol en Costa Rica lo demás es disfrutar y vivir la experiencia
On a Sunday morning, we were trying to come up with something different to do with a seven year old, and Elvis found an Instagram post mentioning Rio Loro and we decided to make the drive to Cartago. It’s not a very long drive from San Jose, and it ended up being a pretty nice time. The hiking trail is very flat and basic – perfect for kids. However, my son was not super into the snakes and butterfly garden. I will say the butterfly garden was somewhat lacking, especially when compared to other places.
I think we probably spent at least two hours there – walking the trails for over an hour after visiting the snake display. Going on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm we crossed paths with only a few people – it was quiet and serene otherwise.
My son at the end said that he really liked the hike itself; I felt for adults or tourists it might be a little basic and lackluster – but for a family afternoon in the woods close to San Jose, it fit the bill!
Era domingo y buscamos una opción cerca de casa, y nos encontramos este bonito lugar a 30 minutos de San José, en Ochomogo. Es una opción para toda la familia, con un mariposario (aunque con pocas mariposas), y también un serpentario con varias especies ticas y una pitón enorme. Además, hay un pequeño cocodrilo y algunas tortugas.
El lugar cuenta con espacios para hacer picnic, senderos muy bonitos y un mirador donde pudimos participar y disfrutar todos los miembros de nuestra familia.
En fin, vale la pena salir de la rutina y visitar un lugar tan bonito y cercano.
Uno de mis lugares favoritos para desayunar —aunque está abierto todo el día y ofrece un menú amplio tanto para brunch como para almuerzo. En mi caso, siempre lo he visitado por las mañanas, y el menú de desayuno es delicioso.
Mi favorito es el gallo pinto, ya sea solo o en el bowl de masa madre, que es simplemente delicioso. También hay opciones internacionales, igualmente muy sabrosas.
En cuanto a las bebidas, suelo elegir café, que es muy bueno, pero también ofrecen bebidas naturales. Incluso hay la opción de pedir una copa de vino u otras bebidas.
En resumen, es un lugar muy rico y agradable para pasar un buen rato en familia o con amigos con precios muy razonables y competetivos.
Bread House is in our frequent rotation of breakfast places because:
the food is good
it’s not that expensive
the atmosphere is nice
they have a lot of vegetarian options
they have a lot of kids options
However, parking can be a bit hectic if you go at one of the busier hours on Sunday mornings.
I’m accustomed to being somewhat limited for choices in restaurants, so I am always a fan of any places where I can choose between multiple options, and the same with the children’s menu. Another plus is the variety – you can choose more American style breakfasts or go with a deluxe gallo pinto; my personal favourite is the huevos rancheros.
You can get one of the more traditional brunch options for around 5,000 colones, and prices go up from there for lunches. We always leave the restaurant completely stuffed.
They also have other locations in San José (in Curridabat and Montes de Oca) with I believe the Escazú location opening earlier this year.

First, you need to get an appointment online, which you can do online at the BCR website. As mentioned on the page, you need to use one of the parents’ ID numbers to make the appointment.
Fill out the relevant fields (in my case, it was due to my son’s passport expiring) and choose which location you’d like for the appointment. If you’re in a rush, and willing to travel, you can choose different locations and choose whichever location has the earliest date available.
You will get an email confirming your appointment and reiterating the documents you’ll need to bring.
You’ll need to bring:
A valid cedula (your own).
Birth certificate.
Expired passport.
Both parents need to be present at the appointment for the permiso de salida.
The day of the appointment you show up, fill in some forms, and get your child to pose for their photos.
As of publishing, turn around time to receive the passport was 15 days.

When your passport arrives at Correos de Costa Rica you’ll get an SMS message, and then it’s just a question of going and picking it up in person!
